Share your views on community equipment

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

The local Council is asking for resident's views and experiences of using its community equipment service.

Did you know that Sefton Council's equipment store delivered over 43,000 items of equipment to homes across the borough in the last year? This vital support helps thousands of people who need assistance to live independently in their own home.

The Council wish as many people as possible to take part in a consultation. Whether your experience was good or bad - they want to hear it so that they can make sure that the service continually improves.

Other ideas within the consultation include looking at alternative ways for people and families to collect and return items for use in the home, such as bath and walking aids rather than wait in or wait for deliveries.

Cllr Cummins, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care explains: "While there is an increasing demand for community equipment, we need to make sure that the service is efficient and is meeting the needs of our most vulnerable people in the community.

"This is a great way to hear from the people that actually use the service, so that we can listen to their suggestions for how it could work even better."

Taking part and sharing your views is easy. The consultation, which is open until the 3 November, can be completed online by visiting www.engagespace.co.uk/sefton or you can request a paper copy via 0151 934 3023.
